The Defending Champs Alabama are back on top for the Pre-Season rankings for the 2012 College Football Season as they try to win another National Championship.

NO. 2: USC is fresh off their postseason ban Matt Barkley and the Trojans look to make a run for the National Championship game.

NO. 9: Denard Robinson, maybe the most versatile Quarterback in the nation will try to get Michigan to the BCS Championship for the first time in school history.

NO. 16: Led by Touchdown machine Montee Ball, Wisconsin after losing Russell Wilson still has a good chance to win the Big Ten and get to the NC game.

NO. 22: Texas gets back into the top 25, but is up against a tough Big 12 schedule as they try to get back to the Championship game for the 3rd time in 8 years.

Canes Crush The Jackets
The Hurricanes bounced back very well after their heartbreaking loss last weekend. They dominated Yellow Jackets.

Lamar Miller stole the show rushing for over 250 yds and 2 touchdowns. Jacory Harris was quite efficient throwing for 2 touchdowns.

The Canes are now 5-1 in SEC play and are 2nd in the SEC Sunshine behind Florida State

Georgia Tech (4-4) heads to Clemson to take on the Tigers next week, while Miami (5-2) hosts the Caveliers of Virginia for their 2nd non-conference game of the year.

Then the Gators came back with a field goal of their own to steal the lead back 31-30, setting up Miami perfectly for a game winning drive. Miami pushed the ball inside the Florida 35 with 1:20 left to play. On the next play a 2nd and 5 situation Jacory Harris tried to Byrd on a slant pattern the pass was inaccurate and was picked off. Florida ran down the clock and won the game.

Miami Rallies Past UCF

Miami barely survived a second straight loss to the UCF Knights. Down 28-13 after 3 quarters Miami began their huge rally. Early in the 4th Harris hooked up with Benjamin for the 6th time this season, and after a successful 2 pt conversion the score was now 28-21 Knights.

For the next 3 drives Miami failed to move the ball past midfield. But finally with time running out Lamar Miller ran the ball to the UCF 1 yardline. The next play Mike James ran in for a touchdown, his first of the year to tie the game 28-28, setting up for overtime right? On UCF's next possession with just 26 seconds left in the game Jefrey Godfrey was picked off by K. Rodgers who ran it back into the endzone that won the game 35-28.

The Knights (1-3) head to Gainsville next week to take on the Gators. Miami (3-1) hosts Florida Atlantic.

Irish Stun the Canes in Overtime

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish won a thrilling game in Miami kicking a field goal late in regulation to force overtime.

Miami won the toss and chose to play defense first. Notre Dame would score on the first possesion of overtime to make the score 17-0. On Miami's first overtime possesion Lamar Miller ran the ball inside the Irish 10 before Jacory Harris threw a pass intended for Travis Benjamin that was picked off to end the game.

This game marked the first time these rivals faced off since 1990. A rivalry that dates back to the 50's. Notre Dame now leads the series with a record of 16-7-1. These 2 teams will square off next season in South Bend.

Miami Wins a Thrilling Instant Classic

The Miami Hurricanes fell behind early losing 14-0 after one, and 28-14 at the half. After making it a 28-20 game in the 3rd they thought they had a chance. But with just over 2 minutes left in the game Clemson quarterback T. Boyd ran it in and Miami's chances seemed diminished down 35-20.

But thats when everything started to change. Just 22 seconds later Jacory Harris found Travis Benjamin for a 81 yd TD pass and after a 2 pt conversion it was 35-28. They then decided to kick away rather than on side kick and that proved to pay off as they forced Clemson to go 3 and out with :58 seconds on the clock Harris hooked up for another touchdown to Benjamin this time a 57 yarder to tie the game at 35 a piece. Miami the managed to get the ball back with :28 seconds left and drove to the Clemson 36 where for the fourth time of the game Harris would find Benjamin to win the game 42-35.

Clemson (1-2) heads to Auburn next week to take on the Tigers. Miami (2-0) takes on an old foe at home in Notre Dame next week at SunLife Stadium
